Stitch Fix Review #4: We Have a Winner...or Two...

Spoiler: I liked or loved everything.  This is the first time this has happened and I'm absolutely thrilled.  I feel like my stylist, Simone, really read my notes, scoured my Pinterest and did an amazing job finding me items that I can really wear.  When I first opened it and saw all the dark colors I was really excited.  I just did a huge closet purge and got rid of a TON of clothing that just wasn't fitting well anymore and was really looking to build up my basics again.  I feel like my Fix was probably really boring to style, but I'm REALLY happy with it.

I didn't take pictures of me wearing everything.  Partly because of fit issues but mostly because I was tired of picking fights with my sweet husband.  He can only hear "Why can't you make me look THINNER?!?!" so much.  Also, ISO a professional photographer skilled in photoshop who is willing to work for free.

Item #1:  Brixon Ivy
Donna Embellished Neckline Blouse

I LOVED this.  The embellished neckline is right up my ally, love the dark navy and the pin tucked back detail.  Unfortunately, this runs crazy small.  It's a top that looks best when it fits looser and it was skin tight on me.  I may contact Stitch Fix about a size exchange if I can't sell it on the boards. Such a cute top, was really sad that it made me look sausagey.

Item #2:  19 Cooper
Jazz Embroidery Detail Blouse

I had pinned this blouse a few months ago and was thrilled to get it.  I've always been a big fan of solid tops with neckline embellishments.  Even MORE so since I've had kids and SO MANY of my necklaces have gotten broken during random kid-related activities.  Embellished neckline blouses are like 2 birds, 1 stone.  You're already accessorized.  I didn't know this was a racerback style, which is kind of a bummer because I hate strapless bras, but I'm willing to deal with it.  I love the fit, it's just long enough and it's classic with just a bit of edge.  Keeping.

Item #3:  Pixley
Miranda Embroidered Top

Sizing is so weird.   I'm a pretty solid medium.  Depending on the week I can range from a smallish to a largish medium, but it's always in that medium bracket.  All items in this fix were a medium.  I already mentioned how the Donna Embellished Blouse was crazy small--the Miranda Embroidered top was super big.  It just swam on me, and I'm a huge fan of the loose, tunic style so for me to feel like something is too big means it is REALLY big.  It is an absolutely gorgeous top, amazing detail and had it fit I would have been keeping it.

Item #4:  Fate
Catrina Crochet Detail Top

I want this top in every color in the entire world.  Except hot pink.  It is perfect to me.  The material is just thick enough, I love the neckline and the length is exactly where I like it to be.

I read an article once about Gwyneth Paltrow and how she was recommending that women pay $250 or something crazy like that for a t-shirt on her goop site and I was all, "Gwyneth, you're absolutely beautiful and perfect but you're also nuts because nobody is going to spend that on a shirt".

If I was a millionaire, I would pay $250 for this top.  But I'm not, so I'm going to pay my middle class version of that, which is $58.  Am I just super cheap or is $58 still a lot of money for a t-shirt material top?  I don't even care.  I love it.  Keeping this one.

Item #5:  Ezra
Brianna Dress

The sleeves are what turned me against this dress--for some reason 3/4 length sleeves make me look weird.  There was also the pesky fact that no matter how many pictures my husband took of me, I still looked huge in it.  I'm learning to trust the photos.

This dress has amazing detail.  The fit was pretty spot on and I can totally see why my stylist picked it for me.  I mentioned how I loved a vintage look and I think this definitely has that.  Something just didn't click with me, though.  I'm not a super girly girl when it comes to fashion--I'm a little surprised that I love the black top with the crochet detail so much--and this dress is SUPER girly.  It is going to make someone really happy, though, because it's absolutely gorgeous.

This Fix is a 2/5 for me.  If there hadn't been fit issues it could have been a 4/5, which is amazing considering that I haven't kept anything at all from my last two fixes.  My faith in Stitch Fix has been restored.  Last month I was so disappointed but their amazing customer serviced convinced me to try them again and I'm so glad I did.  Amazing job, Simone the Stylist.  I hope I get you again next fix!
