Mox•ie Style Mystery Bag Review: Well Worth the Price Tag

I'm part of a lot of Facebook fashion and subscription box pages/groups.  The name "Mox•ie Style" kept popping up.  I was curious because everyone had great things to say, not only about the clothing but also the customer service.  I was super excited when I received an email from one of the owners, Luci, asking if I would like the opportunity to review their new Mystery Bag option.

Of course I said yes.

After filling out a relatively short survey and writing a bit about my likes/dislikes, they sent me the $73 Mystery Bag, which is an actual thick canvas bag with a zipper that includes 3 clothing items.  It's big, sturdy and perfect for hauling around all of my kiddos paraphernalia/multiple subscription box makeup products.  You can actually choose from different bags and there are currently 9 options to choose from.  I've heard that certain bag styles do sell out, so if you see one you like you should grab it!

Item #1: Maxi Dress by Soibleu

I had mentioned that I liked longer length maxi dresses.  I have a hard time finding maxis that actually hit the floor.  I'm not typically a fan of crazy patterns, which I had stated in my style profile. Luci mentioned this in her note to me, said that she knew I wasn't a fan of patterns but that this dress was very elegant on and she thought it would be great for a date night.  The pattern on this dress is large, bold and in colors that I actually really like so I didn't mind it as much.  I still wasn't sure I was going to like it, but it won me over after I tried it on and realized that it was lined, the perfect length and had an exceptionally elegant neckline.

Item #2: Love High/Low Maxi by Soieblu

I mentioned in my profile that I liked clothing with a vintage feel and Luci said she sent this specifically because of that comment.  I love this dress.  It's weird because two things I don't usually like that I had failed to mention in my comments were the high/low style and light colors (whites/beige/etc.) This dress encompasses both of those things.  My fault for not mentioning it BUT also my gain, because this dress is super adorable. Hopefully I'll get a tan this Summer so the dress doesn't wash me out so much.  It's currently on loan to my super tan friend, who snatched it away when she saw it.  It looks fantastic on her.

Item #3: Tank by Naked Zebra

This top was the only item that I wasn't a huge fan of.  I felt like both the dresses and the tote bag were really great, quality items but this shirt just like an add on/throw in item to me.  It didn't fit well at all and draped weirdly on my body.  The same friend who has the high/low Soieblu dress also now has this top.  She is super petite and the top looks and fits her great, so it seems to be just my body type that didn't work with it.  I loved the color and am always looking for casual tops, so it was a bummer that this one didn't really work out.  I didn't contact Luci for a trade/size exchange because my friend wanted the top, but I know they will do that for you.

Overall I feel like the bag was more than worth the $73 price tag.  I've seen totes like the one everything came in at Target for up to $30 and the High/Low Soieblu dress is in their shop for $60 right now, so just those two items would have been worth the $73 price tag.  They carry a lot of the same brands as Stitch Fix and Golden Tote but the price point seems to be significantly lower.  I think in time they could really give the already bigger clothing subscription services a run for their money.

For the next 30 days you can use the coupon code TryMoxie at checkout to get 30% off your purchase, which is an excellent deal on top of their already amazing prices.  They have lots of price point options to suit your needs.  They DO take requests, so if you see something that another customer received in their bag or can't live without something in their shop, be sure to ask about it in your checkout comments.   They offer FREE returns and exchanges, which is awesome and basically makes trying them out completely risk free.

They are also running a promotion on Sunday where you can help choose their Fall line.  You should head over to the Moxie Style Trading Group and join to read more about this awesome opportunity.

I'm excited to see what their Fall line brings, and even more excited to help pick it!
