Birch Box June 2015 Review: I'm Looking Younger Already!

I didn't want to love Birch Box.  I'm really not a "product" girl.  I dye my own hair, have worn the same kind of makeup since high school and am super cheap when it comes to shampoo and conditioner.  Suave all the way, unless I'm feeling crazy and splurge for Garnier Fructis.

Birch Box is going to ruin me.

For only $10 a month you get this adorably packaged box of fun products you more than likely would have NEVER known about.  If you love any of the trial size products they send, you can buy the regular size in their shop.  Another great thing is that you can earn Birch Points by referring friends or writing reviews.  Review enough products and invite enough friends and YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR SHAMPOO AGAIN!

Or at least for a month.  Shampoo for life would be a LOT of points and may not be realistic.  Low expectations = higher happiness when it comes to free stuff.

Item #1 & #2
Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner
Supergoop Anti-Aging Eye Cream

I hate eyeliner.  Let me just put that out there.  I only wear it on really special occasions.  I've got crazy sensitive skin and the wrong eyeliner can make it look like I've got pink eye for days.  For the sake of this review, though, I put this on and I'm happy to report my eyes are just fine.  It goes on easily and comes right off with eye makeup remover.  I don't notice a huge difference between it and the Clinique liner I've been using for 5 years (I really have to get a new one.  How long does eyeliner last?  Does it go bad?).  The Marcelle liner is $11 on the Birchbox website, which is a middle price range.  Not bad at all, but not something I would personally be interested in purchasing.

The Supergoop Anti-Aging Eye Cream was an awesome product to see in my box.  In 4 years my 2 children have aged me 50 years.  My eyes and a random forehead wrinkle show the constant stress they put me through.  I've been using the cream for 3 days now and I don't notice a difference in wrinkles at all (which I don't think you're supposed to) but the skin under my eyes is significantly softer and my concealer goes on more smoothly, so this product is a win for me.

Item # 3
L. Erikson Hair Tie

Its fine.  Gonna re-gift to my sister.

I've got a lot of hair and like my hair ties to have a TON of grip, otherwise they just don't do the job.  This is a great little throw in/add on but nothing that I would purchase for myself.  Its not crazy thick, but it IS thick enough that it reminds me of a late 80's scrunchie and I'm not ready to revisit the 80's quite yet.

Item #4
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

Love, love, love this.  I just mentioned how I have a lot of hair.  Its a pain.  It takes at least an hour to wash/condition and then I typically just let it air dry overnight because blow drying would take at least another hour.  When I was pregnant I was so nauseous that I couldn't stand in the shower long enough to wash my hair so I started going and getting it blown out at the salon.  That was totally the best perk of being pregnant, not feeling guilty about spending $35 a week to have my hair done.

These days I feel guilt.  This product makes it so much easier to go longer without having to wash my mane.  Feeling lazy, I pumped some of this into my hair and it immediately perked up and didn't look as dingy.  My husband said I looked exceptionally pretty.  Then he told me Juliette needed a diaper change and I thought that he was POSSIBLY just trying to suck up to me so I wouldn't huff about having to change a diaper.  Then I looked at myself in the mirror and, no, I WAS exceptionally pretty that day.  This stuff is great.  It gave me Bridget Bardot hair.

Item #5
Tocca Hand Cream in Green Tea Lemon

I'm not going to gush too much because, you know, its JUST hand cream.  BUT I will say that it is the BEST hand cream I've ever encountered.  Guys, at this point you need to remember that I DON'T spend money on products.  My hand cream experience has been Bath & Body Works (not knocking you, Bath & Body Works--nothing can beat Country Apple) and this just seemed to be on another level.  The smell is amazing, its thick but doesn't leave a residue.  This one made it into my "carry in the purse" makeup case.  I'm using it 10 times a day.  I'll be buying this off the site once my trial size is gone.

Item #6
Brighten Up Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

Like I said, my face is looking old.  Partly because of my stressful children and partly because...I'm getting old.  I'm always up for trying new anti-aging facial treatments and this one was fantastic.  I've used a few different exfoliating scrubs in the last couple years and this one is by far my favorite.  It isn't harsh at all and I noticed the difference after just one use.  It says to only use it a few times a week but I've used it every night for the past 3 nights.  I love the way my face looks and feels after.  I'm really happy with the results and will buying this product as well.

I don't see myself canceling Birchbox anytime soon.  Out of the 6 items they sent I'm completely in love with 3, really like 1 and can re-gift the other 2.  I found it to be a great value for $10 and can't wait for my box in July!

If you want to check out Birchbox for yourself feel free to use my referral link.  Thanks!
